Playing Games

I’m not a computer games player. Never have been, probably never will be. “Duck Hunt” was the only game I ever mastered, a way back when Atari plugged into your TV set.

I tried Super Mario – the one where he races his dune buggy along the beach. I drowned poor Mario countless times before recognizing that getting good at computer games was not on my list of things to get good at.

However, making use of free things, especially software, has been ingrained in my Scottish genes since porridge was invented. One of the software outfits from whom I buy offered this free download – a very basic game called “Shooting Range.” I tried it and it’s not above the very low bar of my skillset.

The real challenge, though, has been figuring out how to upload it to this website and get it to work. Lo and behold, I did and the game shows below, though may take time to load.

As I mentioned, it’s a very basic, free, shooting game, similar to what you might see at a State Fair. Best I can figure, you don’t lose any points for missing the target and the only way I know of to quit is to close the browser window.

Oh well, it’s simple and kills time if you’re bored!

Enjoy, and Happy Birthday, Mike!!

For me, the game works just fine in both Firefox and Opera browsers. I can’t get it to work in Chrome on my computer even although Adobe Flash Player is installed and enabled. I seldom use Chrome, so don’t care. I’m too cheap to spring for a tablet just to read email and check FaceBook, so I don’t know if it will work.

If you play the “Hard” version of the game, yes you have no aimer. If you can’t get it to work, trust me, you’re not missing much!!
