Wherever the Road Leads

Fisher Heights and Parkwood Hills

A very limited target group for this post.

For those of us who grew up in the Fisher Heights or Parkwood Hills subdivisions in Ottawa, I have created a new web page showing what those houses look like today.

*I* found it interesting to see and to reminisce and hey, it’s my website! Perhaps there are some who still have reason to visit the old neighborhood, perhaps some still live close-by, but for some of us who left Ottawa and seldom returned… like the some of us who moved to the American side of of Ganonoque and now drop the “u” in neighborhood… this might be the first time in a while that you’ve had a chance to revisit the old homestead.

If you can make suggestions for additional people and homes, I will gladly add to the list. Leave a comment below, or email me directly by clicking the link below.

These are great Gordon. I just googled a couple more.

Mark Dickman’s house is still there – 4 Barlyn.

So is Bill Strickland’s at 22 Lipstan.

You know Gordon, I have never been to Canada. But growing up, people always told me Canada was just a cold tundra up north. For some reason, even right now, with me being all “grown up” and having a full time job, i still picture Canada as this.

Those pictures you posted, they seem so normal to me. Just mind boggling.
I wonder what my old stomping ground looks like now. The problem is everyone I knew are no longer there. When we graduated high school, we all scattered like roaches when the lights go on.
